The story of Zakariyyah AS and Maryam AS teaches us the absolute Power of Allah (swt). It reminds us that there is absolutely nothing that Allah (swt) cannot do. He has Power to do all things. He can cause an elderly man and a barren woman to have a child. He can even cause a virgin girl to have a child. If He can do this then He can also help you out in whatever difficulty or problem that you may be facing. No matter what your situation may be. No matter how desperate you are. You have to believe that Allah  can help you. You have to believe that He Allah can take away your pain from you because He (swt) has Power over all things.

In order to comprehend what duaa is, we need to understand what duaa is not. Duaa is not placing an order in a restaurant. When you place an order, you pay for it, and you get what you expected. You place an order for fries, you get it right? So you expect what you pay for. When you make Duaa, you pay nothing. When you pay nothing, then have no right what to complain about what you haven’t got. Hence, when we make Duaa to Allah, we do so with the attitude that we are slaves, we don’t deserve anything, we do so with humility.
Our attitude should be, ‘Master whatever you give, I will take it, and if you don’t give what I want, I will accept it.’

Wake up with a renewed mind. A renewed heart. Tell yourself that you won’t break. You won’t despair. You won’t live everyday in fear.

Don’t falter in your step. Be firm for you were made for great things. Your Lord wishes the best for you and He will take you to see great sights in life, if you let Him.

Don’t let your smile be taken away. Don’t let your good nature and warm personality be dampened by what’s happening right now. Because right now isn’t forever.

Don’t worry about tomorrow. Don’t worry about next week. Just focus on now. The blessings of now.

Remember that your pain, your fear, your sadness, all of this is so minute in the sight of Allah. Remember that He is your greatest carer. He is your greatest giver. He is your greatest need. He is your greatest comfort. He is your greatest source of happiness. He is your Allah. Yours.

Remember that your need for Him should be above all else. Sometimes we forget this and then we lose ourselves a little. But the moment we remember this, we should instill it within ourselves and keep telling ourselves that our greatest need is for Allah and if we have Him then He will take care of all else.

May Allah make us strong believers and may He instill within us the fortitude required to get through what appear to be the darkest of storms. آمين. 🌹

Why are our Du’ā’s not answered?

It was said to Ibrāḥim b. Adhām: “What is wrong with us that we supplicate and we receive no answer?”

Ibrāḥim said:

“It is because you know Allāh and you do not obey him, and you know the Messenger and you do not follow his Sunnāh, and you know the Qur`ān and you do not act according to it, and you eat from the blessings of Allāh and you are not thankful for it, and you know Paradise and you do not seek it, and you know Hellfire and you do not flee from it, and you know Iblīs and you do not fight him but rather you agree with him, and you know death and you do not prepare for it, and you bury the dead and you do not learn from it, and you ignore your own faults and you are concerned with the faults of others.”

‎ ● [تفسير القرطبي ٢:١٨٦]

From amongst the means a person can take to purify his soul, is to choose good, pious companions and righteous company, inorder that he may learn from them and they will insha Allah, be a means of encouraging him to do acts of obedience and righteous deeds,

as Allah Almighty says :

‘And keep yourself (O Muhammad sallallhu alaihi wa sallam) patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His Face;
and let not your eyes overlook them, desiring the pomp and glitter of the life of the world; and obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our Remembrance, and who follows his lusts, and whose affair (deeds) has been lost.’
[18:28]
