Some moments of sadness will come to an end quickly, whilst other moments will be long lasting. In those very moments, you may find that a sense of despair overcomes you, a darkness may hover over you and make you feel as though such a moment will not end, ever. But this feeling is so wrong, it is so incorrect and so very baseless.
Take a look back to the last time you felt hurt or sad, not the kind of sadness that comes and goes on a daily basis, but rather the deep rooted kind which settles in the heart and tugs at the core. The kind which makes you feel completely torn. Now, if you look back at such a feeling and the intensity of the sadness experienced, then compare it to the weeks or maybe months which followed, didn’t the pain decrease? Didn’t it sieve through until it became lighter or even weaker?
Such are our emotions. Every passing day is a sieve which sieves our emotions. Our most intense moment of happiness with the passing of days becomes a mere figment of our memory. Likewise our most severe sadness with passing days become mere lessons.
But the one key thing to remember is that no matter how much it hurts, you will only get through it if you hold on to Allah. If you depend on others or material items to expel your pain, you will find yourself falling deeper and deeper in to the pain. However the moment you acknowledge that this is your chance to get closer to Allah, to reconnect with Him, you will already find yourself halfway there to recovery. And when you recover, when your wounds heal and your soul is once again at ease because of a better reward which Allah presents you with, you will truly taste the sweetness of tears which once tasted nothing but bitter.
May Allah swiftly lift your pains and replace them with peace. آمين. 🌹
